When it comes the full-size truck market, there’s one truck that always stands out: the Nissan Titan. Featuring the most powerful standard engine of any truck in the class, the Nissan Titan is a choice that always needs to be considered. Let us give you a bit of a guided tour.
Here’s our comparison of two popular 2020 Nissan Tian trims: the Pro-4X and the SL. Keep reading to see which better fits your wants and needs.
Every 2020 Nissan Titan features a 5.6-liter behemoth of a V8 engine. It produces 400 horses and 413 lb-ft of torque, which is the highest standard performance of any vehicle in the segment. The engine is paired to a capable nine-speed automatic. Standard drivetrain is trim dependent. For the most part, though, RWD is standard and 4x4 is available. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking are standard, alongside other features not listed here.
The Pro-4X is off-road focused. As such, it is only available with a 4x4 drivetrain. Similarly, it features Bilstein coilover shocks, all-terrain tires, an electronic locking rear differential, skid plates, and hill descent control. It also gets a 9-inch touchscreen, integrated navigation, voice recognition capability, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a spray-on bedliner, LED headlight, LED fog lights, and much more. It also has three available packages: Pro-4X Utility, Pro-4X Convenience, and Pro-4X Moonroof.
The SL is more focused on utility than off-roading. It comes standard with RWD, though 4x4 is available. It has the Utili-track in-bed cargo system, cargo bed lights, side running boards, four moveable tie-down anchors, and an in-bed 120V power outlet. Inside the cabin, the SL has leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power-sliding rear window, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, and a Fender audio system. It also has power-folding side mirrors, remote start, a surround-view parking camer system and front parking sensors. There is one available package for the SL trim: SL Tow.
