What type of engine will the Nissan Z Proto have?

Nissan Z Proto Powertrain: What We Know So Far

Here at Palm Springs Nissan in Cathedral City, CA, we adore the Fairlady lineup. From the classic S30 to the current-gen 370Z, the Nissan Fairlady line is classic driver’s car material. And Nissan recently unveiled the new Z Proto, the next step for the Fairlady.

But performance is key when it comes to the Fairlady lineup, so what type of engine will the Z Proto have?

Powertrain Specs

Unfortunately, not a lot has been officially revealed. So far, all we know if that the Z Proto will have a twin-turbo V6. That’s a big step up from the naturally aspirated 370Z V6. We’re hoping it may be similar to the twin-turbo V6 found in the GT-R. A manual transmission has already been confirmed for Z Proto, with an all-new automatic transmission in development specifically for this model.
