Most of Nissan’s models are made to include tire pressure monitoring systems that alert drivers when their tire pressure drops below a certain point. With
Nissan’s Easy-Fill Tire Alert, a bonus level of efficiency is added to help drivers promptly refill their tires to the correct pressures without having to dig out a handheld pressure device or have to drive all the way to a station to check tire pressure numbers.
Now, do not feel the least bit overwhelmed, because between us, we know going in to refill your tires is a pain. What Nissan has done with the Easy-Fill Tire Alert makes the tire-checking process much more straightforward and accessible to all levels of drivers. All you have to do is park your vehicle in a safe location, apply the parking brake, and leave the ignition in the “on” position with the engine off. As soon as air begins filling the tire, the car’s exterior lights flash to indicate Easy-Fill Tire Alert is currently monitoring the change in air pressure. Once the perfect tire pressure is reached, the car’s horn will sound (so do not be alarmed). Should an over-inflation occur, the horn will sound again and the hazard indicators flash three times, signaling the need to release air.

With this nifty piece of Nissan equipment, you will not have to be one of the four out of five consumers who drive with improperly inflated tires that contain either too much or too little air pressure. Based on those statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), you as a consumer could save as much as 11 cents per gallon on fuel thus extending the life of a tire by 4,700 miles.
When the Easy-Fill Tire Alert was announced, Sarah Cardinali, senior manager of product safety at Nissan North America said in a promotional statement that ensuring consumers’ tires are inflated to the precise pressure is a simple step drivers can take to ensure their vehicles are safer to drive this summer, “especially with the start of summer road trips.” She went on to say, “Nissan’s Easy-Fill Tire Alert takes the guesswork out of filling tires and makes simple vehicle maintenance less intimidating for the average driver.”
The system also allows underinflated tires to be filled to the recommended pressure in about half the time compared to using a traditional tire gauge. Talk about a timer saver.
