The 2020 Nissan LEAF and 2020 Nissan LEAF Plus are both eligible for the $7,500 federal tax credit. For people on a budget, this makes both the LEAF and LEAF Plus excellent all-electric options. See for yourself. Here are the prices the starting MSRPs with the $7,500 credit applied:
For comparison, the least expensive Tesla vehicle, the Model 3, starts at $37,990. The Model 3 is also ineligible for the federal tax credit.
The 2020 Nissan LEAF S and SV both sport a 40kWH battery pack. It produces the equivalent of 147 horsepower and has a single-charge range of 149 miles. The 2020 Nissan LEAF Plus S, SV, and SL all have 62kWh battery packs. They produce the equivalent of 214 horsepower and have a single-charge range of 226 miles. A L2 charger will bring the LEAF to full charge in 7.5 hours; the LEAF Plus takes 11.5 with on an L2 connection. An L3 DC fast charger will fill both models to 80% in about 40 minutes.
