How do I use remote start on my Nissan?

Step-by-Step Guide for Remote Starting Your Nissan Vehicle

Remote Start Instructions

First of all, the car must be in park with all doors closed and locked. If the doors aren’t currently locked, don’t sweat it. Just follow these steps:

Make sure your Nissan vehicle is within view
On the key fob, press the lock button, regardless of whether doors are locked/unlocked
Within 5 seconds, press and hold the remote start button for at least 2 seconds
Your Nissan vehicle’s engine will start, parking lights will turn on, and automatic climate control will engage
The engine will shut itself off after 10 minutes if an extension is not performed

Remote Start Extension

Every new Nissan vehicle with remote start equipped can have its remote start duration extended once for 10 extra minutes before turning itself off. The extension is performed by repeating steps 2 and 3 listed above. The extra 10 minutes starts as soon as you perform the extension. For instance, if you perform the extension 8 minutes into the original remote start, it will run for another 10 minutes from that point, for a total runtime of 18 minutes. After an extension is used, the ignition switch inside your Nissan needs to be turned on and off before remote start will work again. And since you have to use the ignition to start driving, this happens automatically.
