Ariya: The All-New Nissan Crossover EV is Set to Hit Market in 2021

With electric vehicles becoming more and more popular, automakers have been pouring a lot of resources into developing new all-electric models. The results have been incredible. While Nissan have been in the EV game for a while, they’ve recently unveiled their first all-electric crossover.

Let’s take a look at both of the Nissan electric vehicles, the upcoming Ariya and the best-selling LEAF.

Brand-New Crossover EV Coming Soon

In July 2020, Nissan revealed the 2022 Ariya, the company’s first all-electric crossover SUV. It is built on the all-new Alliance platform, signaling a commitment to expanding into further all-electric vehicles. The Ariya looks different than anything Nissan has produced before, building off of what Nissan is calling Timeless Japan Futurism. On the performance side of things, the Ariya will be offered in four powertrain variants: 2WD with 63 kWh capacity (280 mile range), 2WD with 87 kWh capacity (380 mile range), e-4ORCE AWD with 63 kWh capacity (270 mile range), and e-4ORCE AWD with 87 kWh capacity (360 mile range). The Ariya will also feature the e-Pedal, which lets the driver launch, accelerate, and decelerate with only the accelerator pedal. For clarification’s sake, the Ariya will also have a normal brake pedal. To learn more, check out the official Ariya press kit.

Nissan LEAF EV Currently Available

If you’re in the market for an EV right now, then Nissan also has its LEAF and LEAF Plus models. The LEAF has a 40 kWh battery, while the LEAF Plus features a 62 kWh one. Both vehicles are great daily drivers, with up to 149-mile and 226-mile ranges, respectively. The 2020 Nissan Leaf also comes with up to $7,500 in tax credit, making for a huge discount.
